I belong to Mi-Ki Breeders USA, Inc. http://www.mi-kibreedersusa.com.
You can check our website for other breeders and lots of information and pictures.
The Mi-Ki came to the US about 25 years ago. They are a rare breed of dog.
There is a shared heritage with Maltese, Papillion, and Japanese Chin dogs.
In our club they have been bred Mi-Ki to Mi-Ki only.
The breed standard that we try to meet has an average size of 5 to 7 lbs. as adults.
My dogs seem to run 4 – 1/2 to 7 lbs., right in the middle!
Our club registers all litters and we document a three generation pedigree for you.
We can show lineage back to the early years of the Mi-Ki.
We have a closed registry which means we know the linage of all the dogs registered in our club.
We do not let unregistered dogs into our breeding program.
These dogs are healthy, hardy, happy animals. They love everyone and get along with other pets, too.
They live well into their teens.
They have been considered “hypo-allergenic” because they are non-shedding.
There are two coat types, long and smooth.
The only difference between coat types is that the smooth coat do not have the beard and mustache of the long coat.
Both types are the exact same dog.
I produce smooth coat puppies from time to time in my litters.
There are usually two to three puppies in a litter and a female should only have a litter once every eighteen months to two years.
Puppies cannot go to their new homes until they are at least 8 weeks old.
They need to be fully weaned from their mother, eating and gaining weight on puppy food.
They will also see a veterinarian to receive their first set of shots, and are screened for any problems.
A deposit is required to hold a puppy.
